The number one thing to remember about orchids is that in nature, orchids don’t grow in plastic or ceramic pots. They grow in jungles. On the bark of trees, on the side of rocks, and on the surface of the ground.
Orchids need very little in the way of care so if you have and orchid at home or the office, follow these 3 easy steps:
Flowers are a symbol of International Women’s Day (IWD) and even though this day may not have the holiday recognition of Easter or Valentine's Day, it's no less important. Beginning in 1911, IWD serves as a way to honor and celebrate the important achievements of women in areas like economy, the arts and politics. Some countries such as China and Russia consider the day a national holiday. Sending flowers to an important woman in your life shows her you honor and respect her contribution to the world.
While the traditional flower of the day is the yellow mimosa, there's no reason you can't do something a little different. If the woman you wish to honour on International Women's Day shows characteristics like beauty, strength and love, give her an orchid. The orchid represents all of these characteristics and makes a unique floral gift.

Sorry, there’s no secret recipe and no secret handshake for watering your orchids. All you need is a little patience and it pays off with increased health and vigor of your orchid which = beautiful blooms.
Our proven method for watering orchids is pretty easy:
1. Fill a plastic tub/sink with several inches of rain water or tap water.
2. Most orchids come in a plastic container with holes in the bottom. Let the plastic container sit in the water (roughly 50% of the pot should by immersed by the water) for 10-15 minutes.
3. Once your orchids have had a good soak, let the orchids sit on a drying rack (or in the drained sink) for a few minutes to make sure that all of the excess water has drained before placing them back in their decorative pot.
4. Most Important! Use some paper towels to dry off any water that might have splashed between the leaves. Ensure water does not collect deep down between the leaves because those areas can easily begin to rot.
